This tutorial explains how to download, send, and play games on your TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator. This method will work for the TI-84 Plus CE, TI-84 Plus CE-T, and TI-83 Premium CE. There are plenty of games to choose from, including Mario, Pacman, Snake, Geometry Dash, and more!
Step 1 — Download TI Connect CE
In order to send any files to your calculator, you are going to need a piece of software called “TI Connect CE”. This software can be downloaded here: https://www.ti84calcwiz.com/resources/
Step 2 — Download the Games
Step 3 — Extract the Files
All game downloads come in the form of a compressed .zip file. This means that you need to extract the contents before we can continue. To do this, open the file you downloaded, and drag all of the files inside onto your Desktop.
Step 4 — Send the Games to Your Calculator
Open up the TI Connect CE software that you downloaded and installed earlier. On the sidebar, there will be three tabs. Click on the second option (the one below the camera). Connect your calculator to your computer using your charging cable. Also, make sure that your calculator is turned on. Drag all of the files that you extracted into TI Connect CE. Click “SEND”.
Step 5 — Play the Games
On your calculator, press the “prgm” button. Select the game you would like to play and press enter. Press enter once more to launch the game. If you get an “Error: Syntax” or an “Error: Archived”, this means you need to update your operating system. Step 6 — Congratulations!
If everything went as planned, you now have the ability to play a game on your TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator! Have fun!
Exiting a game: It is different for every game, but try the following keys: Del, Mode, Clear, and On
Deleting a game: Information on how to delete a game can be found here.
I hope you enjoyed this guide, have fun with your newfound calculator abilities! If your calculator crashes at any point in the game, you can escape by pressing the reset button on the back of your calculator.
